About the model

Kiro is a 256 kHz ultrasonic bat detector. Two-stage inference: an on-device INT8 gatekeeper filters bat/no-bat and only bat-positive clips are uploaded; the server model then confirms the detection and (roadmap) will identify the species. Binary bat/no-bat only for now (species mapping is in progress). Reported metric is a conservative estimate against a mixed synthetic + real European bat clip evaluation set — real field ground truth is being collected.
