Period filter on the charts and a richer report builder
A period filter arrives on the Vegetation Health (NDVI) and surface temperature (LST) charts, along with new tools in the report builder, including image resizing, underlined text and an optional title for maps. The PDF export of reports, the clarity of the weather and climate charts, the reliability of the map and its layers and the button labels in the Regeneration section all improve too.
New Features
6 updatesPeriod filter on the NDVI and temperature (LST) charts
filtro-periodo-ndvi-lstWe have added a handy period filter to the trend charts for Vegetation Health (NDVI) and surface temperature (LST), two of the most useful indicators for following the state of your site over time. Thanks to this filter you can precisely choose the date range you are interested in and focus the analysis only on the period you want to explore, without having to scroll through the entire historical series. This is especially useful when you want to compare a specific season, assess the effect of an intervention or isolate a year or a few months from the overall trend. The chart updates automatically, showing only the data of the selected period, making it much quicker to read the trends. You can change the range as many times as you like and easily return to the full view when you need an overall picture. The feature makes exploring the data faster and more focused, avoiding confusion when the series cover many years. To use it go to XNatura → Monitoring → Site → Metrics and open the vegetation (NDVI) or temperature (LST) charts, then set the period from the date picker. We recommend trying different ranges to easily spot the moments of greatest stress or recovery of the vegetation.
Report builder: resize images, underline text and title your maps
report-builder-modifica-avanzataWe have enriched the report builder with a set of tools that give you much more control over the look of the documents you create. You can now resize images with a handy slider, choosing precisely how large to show them on the page without proceeding by trial and error. We have also added the ability to underline text, so you can highlight the most important passages of your reports. For the maps inserted in the report you can now add an optional title, useful to explain at a glance what each cartographic image represents. We have also improved how content is split across pages, which now takes rows into account more intelligently to avoid unpleasant cuts and wasted space. All these new features make reports more polished, readable and professional, without the need for technical skills. To try them go to XNatura → Monitoring → Site → Reports and create or edit a document, then use the toolbar for images, text and maps. We recommend making the most of map titles to make your reports even clearer for those who read them.
Bug Fixes
6 updatesPDF export of reports more precise and tidy
report-builder-export-pdfWe have improved the quality of the PDF export of reports, fixing some flaws that could appear in the final documents. In particular, we have sorted out the way very long tables are split between one page and the next, avoiding jumps and misalignments that made reading less tidy. We have also fixed an issue whereby the cover background could spill beyond the intended margins, and now the cover page is correctly shown as a full page. The result is a cleaner, more consistent PDF, suitable for sharing with clients, partners or institutions. These fixes apply automatically to all new exports, without you having to change anything in your reports. No action is required on your part: your next export will already benefit from the improvements. To try it go to XNatura → Monitoring → Site → Reports and export a document as PDF. You will notice much more polished pagination and cover.
Weather and climate charts clearer and more consistent
grafici-meteo-clima-chiarezzaWe have worked to make the weather and climate charts of monitoring clearer and more consistent, so you can interpret the data without doubts. Now the tooltips that appear when you hover over the charts clarify that the values refer to the location of your site, and not to a generic area: this way you always know for sure what you are looking at. We have added this clarification to several charts, including temperature, precipitation, wind, weather distribution and historical and future trends. We have also corrected the order of the years in the warming stripes, which now follow the same sequence in both the line view and the table view. Previously it could happen that the years appeared in different orders between the two views, making comparison harder. These fixes are already active automatically and require no action on your part. To see them go to XNatura → Monitoring → Site → Metrics and open the charts in the climate section. You will find clearer indications and a more reliable reading of the data.
Map, layers and land use more reliable
mappa-livelli-uso-suoloWe have fixed several small issues with the map and its layers to make it more reliable and pleasant to use. The layer picker now always opens on the Land use tab, so you immediately find the layers you use most often without having to look for them every time. We have then sorted out the surface temperature (LST) layer on the map, which now displays correctly both in Period average mode and in Year delta mode. Previously, in some combinations, this layer could fail to appear at all, preventing you from consulting the data. We have also fixed an issue whereby some rows of the land-use breakdown were not shown in all languages, also removing the appearance of an isolated and unclear 0. All these fixes are already active automatically and require no action on your part. To try them go to XNatura → Monitoring → Site → Map, open the layer picker and enable the temperature layer. You will notice a more consistent and complete map in every language.
Correct label for the shelters button
regeneration-cta-rifugioWe have corrected the label of a button in the Regeneration section, where the cards dedicated to wildlife shelters showed text that was inconsistent with their function. Previously the button read Go to species, which could confuse those who expected to explore the shelter and not the individual species. Now the button correctly shows Go to shelter, making it clear where the click takes you. This small but useful change improves the consistency of the interface and helps you move around the section with greater confidence. The change has been applied to all the languages of the platform, so the label is correct for everyone. No action is required on your part: the new wording is already active. To see it go to XNatura → Regeneration → Biodiversity projects and open a card dedicated to a shelter. You will find a button with text that is finally clear and consistent.
