New Features
6 updatesNew air-quality and noise stations among your sensors
stazioni-qualita-aria-rumoreWe have integrated the full view of the environmental air-quality and noise-monitoring stations into the platform, so these devices now appear alongside the other sensors on your site and display their data in a clear, tidy way. For air quality you can review the indicators collected by the station and understand at a glance how the air is behaving in the monitored area. For noise you will find a chart of the decibel levels, an indicator showing how often the values stay within or outside the thresholds, a card highlighting the most critical weeks and a wind rose that helps you read where the phenomena come from. This is useful because it brings together in a single place environmental information that was not easy to consult before, letting you assess the site's environmental quality more thoroughly. To access it go to XNatura → Monitoring → Census → Sensors: if your site has an air-quality or noise station, you will see it appear in the device list and on the sensors map. By selecting the device you can explore its charts, filter the data by period and read the dedicated summaries. There is also a window to upload the station's data whenever you need to update the measurements. We recommend checking these sections regularly to keep an eye on how air quality and noise levels evolve over time.
New Biolago element on the map and in the regeneration impact
biolago-nuovo-tipoWe have introduced a new type of element called Biolago, which lets you represent and monitor the small natural bodies of water present in your sites. The Biolago is a precious environment for biodiversity, because it offers water and shelter to many species, and now you can finally record it alongside all the other elements of the site. To add one, go to XNatura → Monitoring → Map → Add element and choose the Biolago option in the guided procedure: you can place it on the map with a dedicated marker, recognizable thanks to its icon with water waves. Once added, the Biolago count appears directly in the site's information panel, so you always know how many you have recorded. We have also added a new Biolagos tab inside the section dedicated to the regeneration impact, where you can see the total number and the year-by-year trend. This tab appears only if the site has at least one Biolago, so the interface stays clean for those who do not have any. Thanks to this new feature you can better showcase the aquatic environments of your projects and tell the story of their contribution to renaturalization. To explore the data go to XNatura → Monitoring → Regeneration → Impact → Biolagos.
Species and observations by period in the Birdy sensor popup
birdy-popup-periodo-specie-osservazioniWe have enriched the popup of the Birdy sensor, the device that listens to and recognizes bird songs, with a new period selector that lets you choose between Day, Month and All. Depending on the selected window you will see two updated figures: the number of detected species and the total number of observations recorded in that period. This new feature helps you understand at a glance how much bird activity there was on a specific day, in the last month or across the entire available time range, without having to open detail pages. When you choose All on the Census page, the counts respect the date filter set on the page, so the numbers reflect exactly the period you are analyzing. To try it, open XNatura → Monitoring → Map and click on a Birdy sensor to open its popup: you will find the period selector just above the species and observations values. The same feature is also available in the sensors section of the Census, so you get the same experience wherever you come across a Birdy. The data is loaded only when you open the popup, so the map stays fast and responsive. It is a simple and quick way to get an idea of the species richness of your site directly from the map.
Period selector for the buzz in the Spectrum sensor popup
spectrum-selettore-periodo-ronzioWe have added a period selector with the options Day, Week and Month to the pollinator buzz trend shown in the Spectrum sensor popup. The Spectrum sensor measures the acoustic activity of pollinating insects and, thanks to this new control, you can now observe how the buzz changes over the last day, the last week or the last month, with the period average always highlighted. This helps you capture both short-term activity peaks and broader trends, giving you a more complete picture of pollinator vitality on your site. To use it, go to XNatura → Monitoring → Map and open the popup of a Spectrum sensor: the selector appears next to the buzz trend chart. The same visualization now works correctly even when you open the sensor from the Census map, so you get the same experience in both sections. The chart is loaded only when you open the popup, so it does not slow down the loading of the map. The default window stays set to the last month, but you can change it with a simple tap. It is a useful tool for quickly comparing different periods and monitoring the health of the pollinator community.
Connect the platform to your AI assistants
connessione-mcp-assistenti-aiWe have added a new card in the settings that lets you connect the XNatura Platform to the main artificial intelligence assistants, so you can query your sites' data simply by writing in natural language. In practice you can ask your assistant about your sites, sensors and monitoring data, and receive answers based on the platform's information without having to navigate between the various pages. The connection is designed to be simple and secure: it happens through authenticated access, so you do not have to copy or manage any secret key. In the card you will find step-by-step instructions and ready-to-copy text blocks to configure the most common assistants, so activation takes just a few moments. To find it, go to XNatura → Settings: the connection card is visible to all logged-in users. This new feature is especially useful for those who want to get quick summaries or ask questions about their own data without manually looking up every value. It is a first step toward a more conversational and immediate way of consulting your information. We invite you to try it to discover how convenient it is to have a conversation with your monitoring data.
Bug Fixes
6 updatesCamera trap counts corrected even with many shots
fix-conteggi-fototrappolaWe have fixed an issue that, on sites with very active camera traps, could make the totals for detections and species appear lower than they really were. The problem occurred when a camera trap accumulated a very high number of shots: for technical reasons the platform showed only a portion of the images and derived the counts from that portion, which were therefore underestimated. Now the totals for detections and species are calculated from the complete data dedicated to the counts, while the images continue to feed the photo gallery as before. This way the numbers you see faithfully reflect all the activity recorded by the camera trap, even when the shots number in the thousands. The fix is already active automatically and requires no action on your part. To check it, go to XNatura → Monitoring → Census → Camera trap and open a camera trap with many shots: you will see the totals updated and consistent with the selected period. If in the past you had noticed counts that seemed too low compared to the images present, you will now find correct values. It is an important improvement for those who use camera traps to estimate the presence of wildlife on their site.
