The Future Climate — Evapotranspiration indicator shows projections of daily FAO reference evapotranspiration (ET₀) based on CMIP6 climate models. Evapotranspiration represents the amount of water transferred from the land surface to the atmosphere through soil evaporation and plant transpiration.
It is a key indicator of water stress: high values indicate greater atmospheric water demand, which can lead to water deficits for vegetation and ecosystems.
Data come from the Open-Meteo Climate Change API (CMIP6 models). The variable used is et0_fao_evapotranspiration (daily FAO reference evapotranspiration). Data are interpolated to the site's geographic position.
