The Future Climate — Shortwave Radiation indicator shows projections of cumulative daily shortwave radiation based on CMIP6 climate models. Solar radiation is the primary driver of photosynthesis, evapotranspiration, and the energy balance of the Earth's surface.
Changes in incident solar radiation affect net primary productivity, phenological cycles, and the water balance of ecosystems.
Data come from the Open-Meteo Climate Change API (CMIP6 models). The variable used is shortwave_radiation_sum (daily cumulative shortwave radiation). Data are interpolated to the site's geographic position.
