The Future Climate — Temperature indicator shows projections of mean air temperature at 2 metres above ground, based on an ensemble of CMIP6 (Coupled Model Intercomparison Project Phase 6) climate models. For each day in the selected period, projected mean, maximum, and minimum values are provided.
Temperature is the most directly perceptible climate parameter and critically influences vegetation phenological cycles, organism metabolism, species distribution, and ecosystem productivity. Reliable temperature projections are essential for planning adaptation and mitigation strategies.
The CMIP6 models used (including CMCC_CM2_VHR4, EC_Earth3P_HR, MPI_ESM1_2_XR) provide high-resolution projections up to 2050.
Data come from the Open-Meteo Climate Change API, which aggregates projections from multiple CMIP6 models. The variable used is temperature_2m (air temperature at 2m above ground). For each day, mean, maximum, and minimum values from the model ensemble are returned. Data are interpolated to the site's geographic position.
