The Future Climate — Wind Speed indicator shows projections of wind speed at 10 metres above ground based on CMIP6 climate models. Wind influences soil erosion, seed and pollen dispersal, mechanical stress on vegetation, evapotranspiration, and atmospheric pollutant distribution.
Changes in wind intensity can have significant impacts on agriculture, forest ecosystems, and pollinator activity.
Data come from the Open-Meteo Climate Change API (CMIP6 models). The variable used is wind_speed_10m (wind speed at 10m above ground). Data are interpolated to the site's geographic position.
