New WebGIS flow to apply maps and polygons to your site
A day full of news: the new WebGIS flow to apply maps and polygons to sites, the guided procedure for land-class colors, clearer messages about available features, and new options in the site settings.
New Features
6 updatesNew WebGIS flow to apply maps and polygons to a site
webgis-applica-al-sitoWe have introduced a new guided path in the WebGIS that lets you apply your maps and polygons directly to a site in just a few steps. Through a handy dropdown menu you can choose how to use a layer you have uploaded or drawn, for example defining it as the site boundary or as a control area. The flow guides you all the way through and, once completed, shows a map preview so you can immediately check the result before confirming. We paid particular attention to the final step, with a preview of the site and the control area and a natural progression toward the analysis sections. This makes it much simpler to turn a drawing or an uploaded file into a configuration ready to analyze. To use the feature, go to the WebGIS, select a layer and open the menu to apply it to the site. The selection between map and table stays in sync, so you always find the element you are working on. This new flow removes many manual steps and makes the WebGIS a truly operational tool for managing your sites.
Guided procedure for land-class colors
color-clc-wizardWe have enriched the guided procedure that helps you assign colors and classes to your land use, making it clearer and more visual. Now, right in the first step, you see a thumbnail preview of the CLC map you are working on, so you immediately understand which area it refers to. We have added helpful explanations on how to convert layers made of lines or points into polygons, a step that could previously feel unintuitive. When you apply changes, you get immediate feedback and are automatically taken to the Land Use section to see the result. This reduces doubts during configuration and saves you time. To access the procedure, open the panel dedicated to land-class colors from the WebGIS or from the Land Use section. Each step is now accompanied by clear guidance on what to do and why. The goal is to let you customize the representation of your territory without needing advanced technical skills.
New risks and stakeholders options in the site settings
impostazioni-sito-rischi-stakeholderWe have expanded the site settings with new toggles dedicated to managing risks and stakeholders. You can now enable or disable these sections easily, and every change is saved instantly, with no need to confirm with a separate button. This lets you precisely customize which content to make available within your monitoring space. We have also made sure that the platform features section stays visible to administrators even for sites that do not belong to a company. This way, those who manage multiple entities always have full control over the available options. To access these settings, go to the site Settings within Monitoring. Each toggle clearly shows its current state and the effect it produces. These options make site configuration more flexible and better suited to different analysis needs.
Improvements
6 updatesClearer messages about available features
messaggi-funzioni-per-ruoloWe have revised the messages that appear when a feature is not yet active or available in your plan, making them more useful and relevant. The text now changes based on your role: if you are an administrator you will see guidance on how to enable the feature, while if you are a user you will get suggestions on who to contact to request it. This avoids generic messages and tells you exactly what the most sensible next step is for you. We have also introduced a consistent, reusable box that elegantly indicates when a section has no data or no functionality, applying it to the main areas of the platform. This way the pages remain understandable even when content is unavailable. You will find these updated messages across the various Monitoring sections when a feature requires activation. The goal is to reduce confusion and always guide you toward the right action. We will keep making the platform's communication more transparent and tailored to those who use it.
Improved census map and location mini-map
mappa-census-e-mini-mappaWe aligned the map in the Census section with the more advanced map engine already used in the analyses, to give you a smoother and more consistent visualization. Thanks to this update, the census maps behave uniformly with the rest of the platform, with better performance and cleaner graphics. We have also revised the small map that shows the site's location: it is now taller, shows a clear point marker, and is made non-interactive when it serves only as a visual reference. We also moved it to a more logical position within the site's main page. This way you immediately understand where your area is, without distractions. To see these updates, open the Census section or a site's main page in Monitoring. The location map now also shows a marker in the header when the data is not site-specific. All of this makes geographic orientation within the platform more immediate.
Sintropy-Air sensors more visible on the map
sintropy-air-visibilitaWe improved the visibility of Sintropy-Air sensors within the platform. These devices are now represented with a dedicated icon on the census map, so you can tell them apart at a glance from other types of sensor. In addition, the number of Sintropy-Air sensors is now correctly shown within the summaries that appear when you click on the site's points. This helps you get a more complete and accurate picture of the instrumentation present in your area. The visual distinction between the different sensors makes it easier to quickly spot what interests you. To see the sensors on the map, go to the Census section and open the site's map view. By clicking on a point you will see the updated count of the devices present. These small touches make reading the sensor network clearer and more reliable.
