Pixel Inspector and new period panels on maps
We introduced the new panels to choose periods and ranges on the maps, the Pixel Inspector tool to read point values, cleaner layer thumbnails, and the ability to embed any layer.
New Features
4 updatesNew panels for periods and ranges on the maps
popup-periodi-mappaWe have introduced a new family of panels that let you precisely choose the period and time range to display on the map layers. When you want to extend or change the time span of a dataset, a clear panel now appears with quick options such as twelve months, two years, five years or a custom range. There are also dedicated modes to compute the average over a period or the difference between two moments, each with its own ready-made presets. For maps available across several months, you can use a handy month-year grid with multiple selection, which automatically skips periods that have already been generated or are in the future. The confirmation button changes intelligently depending on the action, showing for example Apply or Extend range. These panels are connected directly to the map toolbar commands and to the time strip. To try them, open a layer on the site map and choose to extend or modify the period. This makes analyzing the evolution of data over time much simpler and more guided.
Pixel Inspector: read values directly from the map
pixel-inspectorWe have introduced the Pixel Inspector, a new tool that lets you read the exact value of a specific point directly on the map. By activating the tool and clicking on an area, you will see a box appear with the point value recorded at that precise spot in the territory. The box also shows a reference color scale, so you immediately understand whether the value is high, medium or low compared with the layer's range. We extended this feature to all map layers, including land classes and the main environmental indices. A new eyedropper icon makes it clear when the tool is active. To use it, open a site's map, select a layer and activate the Pixel Inspector from the toolbar. It is especially useful for checking specific values without having to download data or consult tables. This tool brings point analysis of the territory right to your fingertips.
Embed any map layer
incorpora-ogni-livelloWe have extended the ability to embed map content to all available layers, no longer just the site perimeter. Each layer now shows a dedicated button that lets you generate a code to integrate that view into a website or an external presentation. This is especially useful for publicly sharing the results of your monitoring or for enriching a page with an interactive map. The feature makes it much simpler to convey the value of your environmental work outside the platform too. To use it, select a layer on the site map and look for the button to embed it. You will then be able to show the representation you chose to colleagues, partners or the public. The embedded view stays consistent with the one you see within the platform. This way your environmental data can reach a wider audience.
Improvements
4 updatesClearer, more realistic layer thumbnails
miniature-livelliWe improved the preview images you see in the map's layer picker, making them clearer and more faithful to reality. Now, when available, the layer's actual image is used as the thumbnail, so the preview matches what you will actually see on the map. For layers that do not yet have an image, we have prepared elegant fallback previews, avoiding empty spaces. We also replaced some thumbnails that looked grainy or incorrect with cleaner satellite renders. Six of the main biodiversity layers now use dedicated, higher-quality images. This makes it much easier to recognize the right layer to select at a glance. To see the new thumbnails, open the layer picker on a site's map. A more polished visual representation makes choosing data faster and more pleasant.
