Transect area calculation in Field Mode

Field Mode, the tool designed for those who work directly on the ground from their smartphone, now automatically calculates the surface area of the transects you draw. While you trace a survey route in the field, you immediately see the corresponding area shown clearly, without having to do calculations by hand. This helps you size the survey areas correctly and document the work done precisely. We have also added a check that, for the most delicate actions on mounts and transects, verifies you are connected to the internet before proceeding. This way you avoid starting important operations when the connection is absent, preventing incomplete data or saving errors. To use the new feature open XNatura → Field Mode from your smartphone and work on the site's transects. You will see the calculated area in real time as you draw. Having this information at hand makes field work safer and more reliable.

We have made the delicate actions in Field Mode safer and clearer. When you are about to perform an important operation, such as deleting an element or unlinking a device, a confirmation panel now slides up from the bottom of the screen and asks you to confirm the choice. This reduces the risk of accidental taps and unwanted deletions while you work on the move. The same type of confirmation has also been extended to unlinking devices, to make the experience uniform. We have also made the mount icon more recognisable and added a notice that tells you when you are offline, so you always know whether your actions will be recorded right away or only when the connection returns. All this makes field use more relaxed, because important actions always ask for an explicit confirmation. To try it open XNatura → Field Mode and try to delete or modify an element.
