New temperature chart and CSV export of data
A new chart of land surface temperature over time and the CSV export of vegetation and temperature data arrive, together with a banner that flags what's new in monitoring. The report AI Text, the aggregated view for sites with many parcels, the gauge chart labels and the visibility of land-use layers for public visitors all improve too.
New Features
8 updatesNew chart of land surface temperature over time
grafico-temperatura-lstWe have introduced a new chart dedicated to the evolution over time of the land surface temperature, measured through satellite imagery. Unlike air temperature, this figure tells you how much the soil and vegetation of your site actually heat up, valuable information for understanding phenomena such as heat stress or heat islands. The chart shows the evolution of the values over the selected period, with a style that is consistent and familiar with the one already used for the vegetation index. This way you can read at a glance whether the surface is warming, cooling or staying stable across the seasons. Comparing this trend with the other indicators helps you better interpret the health status of the territory. The chart is interactive: hovering over the points you will see the exact values for each date. To view it go to XNatura → Monitoring → Site → Microclimate and look for the new land surface temperature chart. We recommend looking at the hottest periods of the year to spot any critical areas.
Export vegetation and temperature chart data to CSV
csv-export-graficiFrom today you can download the data that powers the vegetation index (NDVI) and land surface temperature charts directly in CSV format. Until now the download menu of these charts only offered the image, while now you can also obtain the complete table of values, ready to be opened in a spreadsheet. This lets you rework the historical series as you prefer, build your own custom analyses or keep the data for future comparisons. It is particularly handy when you need to insert the numbers into an external report or share them with colleagues and consultants who work with spreadsheets. The file contains the dates and the corresponding chart values, so you always have the complete detail. You no longer have to transcribe the data by hand by reading it from the chart, with an obvious saving of time and less risk of errors. To use it go to XNatura → Monitoring → Site, open the NDVI chart or the temperature one and choose the download option selecting the CSV format. You will find the file ready to use in a few moments.
What's new banner in monitoring to discover the updates
banner-novita-monitoringWe have added a small banner in the monitoring section that flags you when new features are available on the platform. When you open monitoring you will see a discreet notice inviting you to discover the latest news, with a direct link to the updates page. This way you no longer risk missing the improvements we release, because you are notified right where you work every day. The banner is designed not to disturb: once read you can close it and it will not reappear, leaving the interface clean. It is a simple way to always stay up to date without having to actively search for what has changed. The highlighted news takes you to the dedicated page, where you find the complete description of every update. To see it go to XNatura → Monitoring: if there are recent updates, the banner will appear at the top. Take a look now and then so you don't miss any new feature.
Bug Fixes
8 updatesLand-use layers visible to public visitors as well
livelli-uso-suolo-pubbliciWe have fixed an issue whereby the land-use layers were not shown to those consulting a site without having logged in or in anonymous browsing mode. In practice a public visitor would open the map but could not see these information layers, missing an important part of the available information. Now the land-use layers are displayed correctly for public and incognito users too, aligning their experience with that of users who have logged in. This is useful above all when you share a site link with people who don't have an account, such as clients or partners. The fix is already active automatically and requires no action on your part. Those who consult the map will now be able to appreciate the full picture of the territory. To check it go to XNatura → Monitoring → Site → Map and open the layer picker, even from a non-authenticated session. The land-use layers will be regularly available.
Improvements
8 updatesAI Text in reports now more relevant to the context
testo-ai-reportIn the report generator we have improved the text block created with artificial intelligence, which is now called AI Text. The most important change is that the generation takes into account the context of the report you are working on, producing text that is more relevant and consistent with the data and topics of the document. Previously the text was created in a more generic way, while now it better reflects what you are actually telling in the report. This saves you time, because the suggested text requires fewer changes before it is ready. We have also renamed the block from AI Comment to AI Text to make its purpose clearer. The result is an assisted writing tool that is more useful and immediate to use. To try it go to XNatura → Monitoring → Site → Report and add or edit an AI Text block. Let the assistant prepare a first draft and then refine it according to your needs.
Aggregated view for sites made up of many parcels
vista-aggregata-molte-particelleWe have improved the handling of sites made up of many parcels or sub-areas, where analysing them one by one would be impractical. For these sites an aggregated mode is now available that brings together in a single view the overall data of the whole site. This way, even when a site is divided into many portions, you can immediately consult the overall picture without having to scroll through a long list of individual areas. This makes reading the data much faster and tidier, especially for the larger and more fragmented sites. We have also fixed the behaviour of the selector, so that the aggregated choice is shown consistently. The result is a clearer experience when you work with complex sites. To use it go to XNatura → Monitoring → Site and select the aggregated view when the site is made up of many parcels. You will immediately get the summary of the data of the whole site.
Clearer labels in gauge charts
etichette-gauge-aperteWe have made the gauge charts more readable, the half-circle ones that show a value within a scale. Now, when a band of the scale has no defined upper limit, the label flags it clearly with an open wording, for example above a certain value, instead of showing a potentially misleading number. In the same way we have fixed the display of values that fall beyond the limits of the scale, so as not to generate confusion. We have also standardised the format of decimal numbers, so that the figures are shown consistently across all the indicators. These adjustments make the charts more precise and easy to interpret at a glance. The information is thus always correct and immediately understandable. To notice them go to XNatura → Monitoring → Site → Risks and look at the gauge charts with the new labels. Reading the value and the band it belongs to is now simpler and more reliable.
Report images handled more efficiently
immagini-report-piu-leggereWe have optimised the way images are handled within the report generator. The photographs and logos you insert into your documents are now treated more efficiently, keeping the reports lighter and quicker to open and save. This is particularly useful when a report contains many images or high-resolution photos, situations in which the document could previously become heavy. The change also concerns the header and background images, which are now loaded more reliably. Nothing changes in the way you work: you continue to insert images as before, but with better performance behind the scenes. The result is a smoother experience while creating and exporting reports. To benefit from it go to XNatura → Monitoring → Site → Report and add your images as usual. You will notice greater responsiveness even with documents rich in visual content.
