Professional ecologists · XNatura by 3Bee

Looking for a professional ecologist?Work with the best team of ecologists.

Biologists, agronomists, environmental engineers, naturalists, wildlife and bird specialists: one team of ecologists that runs the field surveys, writes the reports and signs them by name. Behind them, the XNatura platform: 200+ satellite layers and 10,000+ sensors.

The ecology team

Every ecologist your project needs, in one team.

A real environmental project needs several skills at once: someone who knows the species, the soil, the works, the accounts. Here they work in the same team, on the same data, and each signs their own part.

  • Environmental Impact Assessment

The biodiversity chapter of the study: flora, fauna, ecosystems, impacts and mitigation.

    How we prepare an EIA
  • Appropriate Assessment

Screening and appropriate assessment under the Habitats Directive, for projects near a Natura 2000 site.

  • Wildlife, botanical and bird surveys

Camera traps, bioacoustics, transects and sampling, where the data says they are needed.

    Our field sensors
  • Environmental monitoring plan

Before, during and after works, with sensor data flowing continuously into the platform.

  • BREEAM and LEED

The ecology report and the Land Use & Ecology credits: survey, calculation and management plan.

    The BREEAM report
  • Biodiversity Net Gain

For projects in England: baseline, at least a 10% gain and 30 years of management.

    How we work on BNG
  • CSRD, ESRS E4 and TNFD

Site biodiversity baselines, impacts and dependencies, action plan and disclosure.

    The ESRS
  • Biodiversity credits

Projects under UNI/PdR 179:2025, the practice we led, from baseline to monitoring.

    A credit project
  • Oases and ecological restoration

Biodiversity oases and nature-based solutions, designed and then measured over the years.

Why this team

Ecologists with credentials you can check.

The Italian standard

UNI/PdR 179:2025, the national reference practice for measuring biodiversity: we led the group that wrote it.

European Commission

Our CEO sits on the Nature Credits Expert Group, the panel that advises the Commission on nature credits.

PIARC

In technical committee 3.4 of the World Road Association we coordinate the work on biodiversity.

200+ projects

Infrastructure, energy, agrifood, real estate, finance and the public sector, in 12 countries.

How our ecologists work

Data first, then the field, then the signature.

  1. 01

    Screening in days

Habitats, protected areas, constraints and potential species of the site, from the platform: before we move, we know where to look.

  2. 02

    Surveys where they matter

The ecologists go into the field where the data points: camera traps, bioacoustics, transects and sampling, in the right season.

  3. 03

    A signed report

Every document carries the name of the ecologist who wrote it, and the data stays on the platform for the monitoring of the years after.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What does a professional ecologist do?

They study how a project or an activity interacts with species, habitats and ecosystems, and put it in writing in a form an authority, a certifier or an auditor can check: field surveys, data analysis, impact assessment, mitigation measures and a monitoring plan. Our ecologists work with the XNatura platform: they start from satellite and sensor data, then go into the field.

When does a project need an ecologist?

When the procedure or the standard asks for one: the biodiversity chapter of an EIA, an Appropriate Assessment near a Natura 2000 site, the ecology credits of BREEAM and LEED, Biodiversity Net Gain in England, the baseline for ESRS E4 under the CSRD, a biodiversity credit project. Bring them in early: surveys depend on the seasons.

What kinds of ecologist are in your team?

Biologists, agronomists, environmental engineers, naturalists and wildlife experts, certification, sustainability and remote sensing specialists, with bird and bat monitoring also handed to our bioacoustic sensors. Each project gets the group it needs, coordinated by a named lead.

Who signs the reports?

An ecologist of the team, from the discipline involved, named on the document. The signature stays attached to the data on the platform, so whoever checks it can trace it back to the measurement.

Do you only work in Italy?

No. The team has delivered more than 200 projects in 12 countries and the platform covers sites across Europe. For field surveys outside Italy we discuss each project on its own terms.

How much does an ecologist cost?

It depends on the area, the survey seasons and the standard to meet. Write to us or book a call: within 24 hours a lead of the team tells you what is needed and what is not.
