Case studies: buildings and urban sites, measured in the field
RINA Prime Value Services, Quartiere Santa Giulia and BAM: the ecology assessment of two outlet villages for BREEAM In-Use, the green planning of a new Milan district and the monitoring of a city park. None of them shows a certification score: the assessor awards it.

FAQ
Questions on these cases
Do these cases show a BREEAM score obtained?
No. For RINA we produced the two Ecology Reports and the five-year Biodiversity Management Plan for credits LUE 02, LUE 03 and LUE 04 of BREEAM In-Use v6; the final score is awarded by the assessor and is not in the case.
What is measured on an urban site?
Habitats and land use from satellite, vegetation with field surveys in the Biodiversa app and pollinators with the sensors. At BAM, for example, the park's biodiversity is compared with an urban control area.
Why keep monitoring after the report?
Because a report shows the site on one day, while a management plan has to show over time that its targets are met. In the RINA case the field and satellite data stay in the platform, where the site managers follow the indicators of the plan.
