Case studies: six energy and infrastructure sites, measured in the field
RWE, Cubico, wpd, Edison ReGeA, A35 Brebemi and CAV: sites measured with field sensors and satellite data. They are voluntary monitoring and regeneration projects, not outcomes of permitting procedures.

FAQ
Questions on these cases
Are these cases outcomes of EIA procedures?
No. They are voluntary monitoring and regeneration projects. For RWE the sensors went in before the panels, as the site's baseline; none of the six cases shows the decision of a permitting procedure.
What is measured on these sites?
The site's biodiversity against a nearby control area (MSA), pollinators with the field sensors and, where it matters, air quality and the protected areas within 10 km. Each case study gives its own figures.
Why a control area?
Because a figure on its own does not say whether a site is doing well or badly; the comparison with a similar area nearby, measured the same way, does. That is why each case gives the site's value and the control area's.
